The clutch of my car failed as early as 15000 km!!

Cars & Transport

I bought a proton persona 1.6 brand new from the above mentioned imperial holdings dealer in january of 2012.
at about 15000 km, the clucth of the car failed. strangely the car picked up again and i drove it for a few days. this was just when the car was due for it first 15000 km service. when i took the car in for service, i reported the incident to the service manager by and that was put on the service job card.
later in the day i collected the car and i was told there was nothing wrong with the clutch and the report on the job card reported as such.i carried on driving the for another almost 19000 km. at around 37000 km the clutch of the car failed completely and had to be towed in. i took the car to the same dealership and reported it with them.immediately i was told that i have to pay for the repairs as the warranty had expired since it was a year after i had bought the car (this is now in march of 2013). i argued that i had reported this before at about 15000 km when the warranty would still have been valid as per their claim and i was told that was irrelevant as they could not have opened the clutch at that time as it would have cost them a lot of money. it cost me R9000!!!
