COSTLY REPAIRS DID NOT RESOLVE MY PROBLEM

Cars & Transport

25 March 2013, I took my 2005 Renault Meg Auth to DTM Renault, Strand. I suspected an engine noise but left my car to be diagnosed by the experts. Problem reported - a noise emanating from the engine.

An hour after releasing my vehicle, I received a quote from Vernice for an amount of R16000 to repair a host of problems. Shocked, I was nonetheless accommodating and provided my blessing for the experts to repair the problem over a 3 day period.
However, I returned the vehicle to Renault today as the noise reported had not disappeared. I was taken for a test drive and after pointing out the noise, was told by Jeandre that it is my CV joints and will cost up to R8000 to repair.
I was then also informed that the vehicle had a clutch shudder and that I should consider having the gearbox repaired. The total estimated quote - another R14000
I took my car to the agents for a noise emanating from the engine. The vehicle is repaired, based on this fact at a cost, to me, of R16000.00. I get told that I will have to fork out another R8000 to repair the noise I originally reported and R6000 for the gearbox if I wish.

Thank you Renault for taking my money and giving me nothing in return!!
