An unusual compliment

My Easter Sunday morning was spent quite differently to how most people spent it; with a phone call telling me my mom was in an accident. I drove to the scene distraught, and as I approached and saw all the police cars, the firetruck and ambulance I started thinking the worst.

There was a Toyota taxi that was in bad shape and in the distance, I saw a familiar grey outline surrounded by a lot of uniforms. As I got even closer I saw the jaws of life being applied to one of the doors. I got out of the car and saw a figure covered in a white cloth in the driver's seat and my stomach turned; I had to very quickly be quelled by a police officer telling me that she will be okay quite contrary to the scene I saw.

A bit later, we were at the hospital and x-rays were done and all they could find was a broken collarbone; she left an accident of that scale with just a broken collarbone.

All in all, my compliment is unusual. I would like to thank Volvo from the bottom of my heart for the safe car they built. I shudder at the thought of how different my evening could have been if my mom wasn't driving an S40.
