South African Police Service
No assistance on an accident scene!

This morning at approx. 05H30am we were traveling on our normal back route on our way to work that passes by Ferreiras & the Motel, as we turned left at the corner we noticed two vehicles, one- (a bakkie) which had gone down an embankment & the other a Citi-Golf; both occupants were traveling together. We stopped & assisted, & nobody else bothered! Eventually shortly afterwards, the Police came around the corner, stopped, spoke to the vehicle occupants & drove off thereafter- absolutely no assistance rendered at the accident scene?! They apparently said that they couldn't open a case, I mean for what?? All these men needed was assistance! We're disgusted at the Police Service, we at least helped these men, even though we couldn't get their bakkie out of the embankment, the point is that we stopped for complete strangers at an accident & the Police that should be there for the public just couldn't care!! How can we as citizens of this country look to & depend on the Police if this happens inclusive of these other sick incidents that are shown on the news, where is this country going?? We look down at you!
