Europcar
Billed for damages I didn't cause

In the December holidays, my family and I decided to book a car with Europcar for the very first time.
It was also the first time I have ever rented a vehicle.
We drove the vehicle about 200km in total. Over this 200km, Europcar claims that I chipped the windscreen and broke the rear tail light.
My sister, mom and I were together in the vehicle at all times and at no stage were these damages incurred to the vehicle while I was driving.
I stated it clearly on the 'incident report' that was handed to me (even after I explained that I was not responsible for the damages) that I was not going to be held liable for the damages. The inspection sheet given to me was in no way clear and itself had errors.
I received my deposit back when I was back in Joburg, but a couple of weeks later was emailed an invoice for 'damages'. I sent numerous emails asking for documentation, and a reasonable explanation for charging me after we had made it very clear that we were not liable for the damages.
The only response I got was a final threatening letter that I should avoid being black listed.
The customer service is appalling, and they are just trying to make a buck out of everyone and anyone!!!
