On the obove-named date (Saturday ) - I went about my business to get some quotes for new shock absorbers (all-round) for Mazda 1.6ie (2001) -
1. Supaquick Durban Rd - R2814 (excl wheel alignment)
2. L&Z auto-conti Maitland - R2750 (incl wheel alignment)
3. Kwik-fix Durban Rd - R2800 (incl wheel alignment)
Very competitive prices. Then for the "unscrupulous shock" of the day, request from BUDGET AUTO CENTRE cnr Voortrekker Rd Maitland & Koeberg Rd - Sales person @ the desk promptly quoted R4800.00 & confirmed the quoted price - I thanked him and as I turned around to leave another employee (manager?) - asked me whether I had received ANY OTHER QUOTES, I replied YES and mentioned the figure (R2800.00) to which he promptly said - "give me R2700 and I'll do it for you! " - I said thanks BUT no-thanks... a post christmas DISCOUNT of R2100.00 suddenly - I cannot comprehend the massive difference bewteen the 3 quotes & this RUDE quote - these sorts of businesses give the entire industry a very bad name - dunno who to trust - I was too shocked to even ask any further questions & these unscrupulous characters should be EXPOSED! - I Isaacs
