Multi-axle Manufacturing
Gross Overcharging on Services Rendered

Cars & Transport

I took our Mobile Clinic Trailer to Multi-Axle for minor repairs that were identified at the (COR) Vehicle Testing Station in Richards Bay on Friday 28th February. Two of the five items that were identified as problems were modifications that had already been undertaken by Multi-Axle Manufacturers previously. The owner Johnny Motzouris told me that because it was Friday afternoon they would not be able to undertake the repair immediately but he had staff coming in on Saturday and he would be able to complete the job by 12h00. The job consisted of replacing two 14mm x 70mm long high tensile bolts with lylock nuts holding the axle to the chassis on the left hand side that had sheared off. Replace one 12mm x 150mm Galv. bolt with nylock nut on the "A" Frame which had been bent. Replace the safety cable which is a 5mm x 1 meter long s/s cable with hook that activates the hand brake. Supply and fit 4 off 35mm x 65mm reflectors to the Clinic. Lastly they had to weld a 300mm x 30mm mild steel square tubing to replace a rusted section. The spares used for this job would not have been more than R300. We were charged R3562.50 for the job. The reason given was because he had to pay overtime.
