Card machines not working

We've been experiencing really pathetic service there lately with regards to their card machines. This has happened now on three occasions that my husband went to fill up the car with fuel and they end up putting the transaction through twice, since their credit card machines don't work properly.
The first time this happened (12/12/2012), the transaction was put through twice on our credit card. The card machine did not register the transaction. When my husband tried to draw cash to pay them, the ATM confirmed that the transaction was completed, but no cash was dispensed.

The manager was EXTREMELY rude, saying that it wasn't his problem and that we would just have to make a plan. Is this the type of image Shell wants to project to their clients - that mismanaged service stations can go around bullying and intimidating their clients?
This resulted in us having to contact the bank to reverse all of these transactions and we had to make the effort to go past there on a later stage to pay them the money.
The second time was on the 28/01/2013 and again this morning (07/02/2013).

And then they withhold the petrol attendants pay due to these problems. That is wrong!
