Europca
Unethical manner in which claims are dealt with

Cars & Transport

On the 12/12/2013 - I rented an NISSAN MICRA VISIA 1.2 I from Europcar at King Shaka international airport. While in my possession I went to uShaka - In the parking lot in a major storm the diver in the car next to me opened his door, lost control of it in the wind and the door bumped into the passenger side of the rental car. Lucky I was in the car and could obtain all the driver details. I also took a photo as the damage was really minimal but non the less there was damage. When returning the car that afternoon I informed them of the incident, provided the with the drivers of the cars detail and opened a police incident. On 29 January 2014 I received an invoice for R 8203.04 - Now this was way excessive based on the damage. On the 30th they deducted this money without authorization from myself from my CC. This indicates that they kept my CVV number of the card and this is not legal. When I finally spoke to them, they can't supply me with a damage report or evidence that they tried to contact other driver. Found out they are self insured and think they are loading price. Not happy at all and cant believe they operate in such an unethical and unlawful manner.
