Missing, & damaged items? Not their problem

We recently moved from Joburg to Cape Town using Elliott Mobility. My suspicions should have been raised when the crew arrived an hour late on the day of packing, and even later for the moving day. On our arrival in Cape Town, we discovered items missing and damaged (a R30, 000 insurance claim). Not what I would expect from a top tier service provider.

What really left a bad taste in the mouth though, was the response from Elliott. In short, I'm still waiting. After reporting the incident, I was politely informed that the matter is being reviewed and escalated, and someone will call me back. Needless to say, I'm still waiting. After probably 10 conversations with Elliott, all initiated by me, there still was no response from the mythical operations manager to whom the matter was supposedly escalated. I have since stopped wasting my time, and clearly the matter has been considered "dealt with" by Elliott.

At no point in the process has anyone from Elliott so much as offered an apology for their poor service, nor for the loss their poor service caused me. I consider the moving service to have been poor, but the response after the fact frankly unacceptable.
