Engen Petroleum
Petrol Station takes no responsibility for damage!

Cars & Transport

On 18/12/13 I filled up my car at Engen Mimosa and asked the attendant to check oil, water and tyres. I then went inside to pay as I wanted to swipe my MyScool card and pay by credit card. On my way to the airport I noticed the check engine light come on, my car lost power and the temperature soared. I made my way across the highway traffic and pulled over. Upon opening the bonnet I discovered that the attendant had not replaced the radiator cap and that my car had overheated. I called my towing service and had my car towed to my mechanic. They informed me that most likely the heads are blown, which could mean R10k in repairs, and to make it worse all the auto-engineering firms which would have to skim the heads are closed until 7 January!! I have now had to rent a car for the 3 weeks at a cost of around R4k, add to this the estimated repairs of R10k (possibly more) and I am out of pocket R14000 all because some couldn't replace a radiator cap!! How difficult is it to work at a petrol station??? We checked the stations CCTV and you can see the guy working on the car, but you cant make out exactly what he is doing, so the service station will take no responsibility!
