Deposit not paid back

I rented a car with my debit card from Europcar, after I returned it they were supposed to pay the deposit back into my account, this never happened. I sent an email via their website but they never replied. I phoned them and they informed me that the details I gave them does not match the bank's details and I should confirm my details. The details read back to me was correct. I confirmed the details via email, where after I was asked to go into the bank and confirm my details. I phoned again and the lady was very rude, did not listen to me when I tried to explain and said that my account number was too short and I should either send my bank statement with my account number or go into the bank and ask them for a letter confirming my account number. Since I cannot get off from work to go into the bank, I could not assist them. I was transferred to Evelyn who informed me that they are trying to pay the deposit into an ABSA account and not a Standardbank account. According to Evelyn, my deposit will be paid into my account, but I'm still waiting for the confirmation. I am utterly disgusted with the way Europcar handled the situation.
