How long must I be on house arrest for a parcel?

There was a mistake with a parcel a friend in N.Ireland sent with a gift for my daughter. I emailed them with my correct address on the 11th of December and they replied they would bring it that afternoon or the next day (Friday). I didn't leave my house AT ALL even with so many things to do. Nothing got delivered. Then comes Tuesday (Monday was a holiday), again, the whole freaking day at home with the door open, and nothing gets delivered. My husband phoned them around noon, and he spoke to a Clayton Reddy who assured him it would be delivered last night (still Tuesday 17-12-13) and of course... it didn't! So today is Wednesday 18-12-13... must we still stay at home the whole day? You guys are ruining our holidays! Should we cancel our vacation trip too? I think it is time for FEDEX/ Supaswift to start delivering. I am very, very angry!
