MOTOR DEALER THAT DOES NOT TAKE TRADE INS?

On 6th December, found a car on [URL Removed] submitted request for dealer to contact me but no reply received. So called on them on Monday 9th at 5pm. Getting help was challenging, then I was told the car was sold, then it was in the carpark and eventually they found it in the Spraybooth! Looked at the car and explained that it was for my wife, for Christmas and I was interested in buying the car. I explained that I wanted to trade in a BMW118i and as Auric is in the same group i.e. same owners, would that be a problem? I was categorically told that "this dealership does not pay anywhere near book value for your trade-in, you will be better off selling your car out of hand". I explained that this was a surprise gift and selling the car out of hand would take time but I Ulric was not listening. I then asked if he could give me a ballpark figure, subject to seeing the car but that we could at least get the transaction underway and he flatly refused saying they only work on the basis of seeing the car. Having dealt with Auric and purchased 4 cars from them, the last 2 they traded in my cars without seeing them so what is so different.. Wrote to Eric Scoble, no response received.
