Toyota Quality

Cars & Transport

I have owned Toyota vehicles for over 15 years now and have never had a problem with the quality or reliability. My family run business has relied on Toyota vehicles on a daily basis for the past 20 years. Until recently, I recommended Toyota to friends, family and colleagues, but my 2009 Yaris T1 has failed me once again! I did not complain when the alternator wheel broke 5 months ago with Toyota quoting me R 7000 to replace. But now the pressure plate in the clutch has collapsed and they are asking me for R 8 100 to replace it.

Of course, the vehicle is out of warranty, so I have to pay out of my own pocket. I must say that I am honestly very VERY disappointed to say the least. Surely these types of problems are manufacturing defects and should be compensated for even though the vehicle is out of warranty?

I have taken extremely good care of the vehicle which only has 53 000 KMs on the clock and am seriously contemplating trading it in and supporting a brand other than Toyota in the future!

Could you please let me know what course of action I can take?
