Toyota
Extended Warranty

Miscellaneous

I bought a 2010 Toyota Prado with 56, 000km privately. The previous owner informed me that the vehicle had an extended warranty up to 220, 000km. I requested a copy from Toyota in order to confirm this (copy attached hereto). From this confirmation it was clear that vehicle indeed had an extended warranty, and that is was not cancelled. The vehicle was financed through Standard Bank, and they also requested a copy of this, as it was a condition of finance. I took the vehicle to Sinoville Toyota in order to replace the rear view camera as it was faulty. The service supervisor informed me that there was even a service bulletin regarding faulty rear view camera's.

This morning Sinoville Toyota informed me that Toyota rejected the claim, as the extended warranty has been cancelled due to the fact that the vehicle skipped its 10, 000 and was service only on 45, 000km and not the 40, 000km as per the service plan. I bought, and paid a premium for, this vehicle due to the fact that it had an extended warranty (as was confirmed by Toyota), AND EXPECT Toyota to honour the extended warranty.
