Outdated Upgrade of the Navigation System

Cars & Transport

I responded to an advert that BMW emailed me for the upgrade of the navigation system. The advert was titled "Shortest distance between two points". After my car spending the entire day at the dealership and at a cost of R1950, this system does not include, amongst others, a portion of the N1 route that was opened to traffic in April 2011, some two and a half years ago. If one is travelling on the N1, the system is going to direct you through the city of Polokwane instead of taking you on the bypass. This would obviously take longer and be less fuel efficient. BMW advertise this as the most efficient way to travel between two points.

BMW's service provider [URL Removed] have acknowledged the problem and are waiting on BMW to approve the 2014 release, however BMW still actively market the outdated system and refuse to give me an acceptable response to my complaint.
