I am writing this report in the hopes that I may be able to warn a few innocent people. I took my car to ACD service centre yesterday as the water was leaking. Mr Naidu then called me and advised that my water bottle was cracked and would cost around R2000 to replace. This seemed quite expensive to me so I called around and found that my regular mechanic would charge me R520. Quite a difference! So I went to collect my car from ACD and they would not release it until I paid R350 for his 'diagnostic'. With all due respect when I took it in and told him my water was leaking it was safe to assume there was something wrong with the water bottle. When I dropped the car there was no mention of any fee for the inspection, no signage in his office of such a fee and nothing for me to sign. I was treated with very little respect by someone trying to make a quick buck off of me. He first tried to rip me off then extort me by holding my car ransom. I do hope my report may help someone before they go there, trust me, take your car somewhere reputable.
