TRIED TO CHARGE R5475 for a R228.00 JOB!!!

Cars & Transport

I am writing on behalf of my mother in law: (Her story below)
I am the owner of a Chery Tiggo and the 2 year warranty expired on the 31/1012013.
On Thursday the 14 Nov 2013 I was leaving a function and my car would not start, I
had it towed in to Multi Franchise in Germiston. They promised that they would
examine the car to find the fault on Friday the 15th On Friday morning Anthony told me that they had put it on the diagnostic machine and that it was definitely not a fuse but that the starter motor had burned out. Seeing
that the warranty had only expired two weeks earlier, he was going to try and have it
repaired as if it was still under warranty.) Having not heard from him I contacted him
again on Monday and enquired as to why it was taking so long and he replied by
saying that they had to get permission from China.By Monday closing time no
authorisation yet. I phoned on Tuesday morning and he informed me that the request was declined and a
quotation for the amount ofR5475.18 for a new starter motor was sent to me. Riaan from the franchise head office who examined my car agreed with the original diagnosis. I went through to take my car away
