We deserve a new car- of the same colour!

Cars & Transport

In early June 2013 we took delivery of a Chevrolet Trailblazer 2.8L 4x4 from Bates GM in Port Shepstone. We had been tracking this vehicle for over a year as it made its way to South Africa so we were very excited to take ownership. Within a few weeks the problems became evident.
First the wind noise. It was a very loud, terrible whistling that could not be drowned out, even with loud music. There was a whole list of other problems with the bodywork- in a new vehicle which, with GM approved extras, came to about half a million rand!
We contacted GM Bates and they were very accommodating.
The vehicle was taken away on 22/10/2013. 3 weeks later we had it back-with even more problems!
The wind noise was sorted out. The windscreen was replaced with a new one. That seems to have been the cause of the wind noise, however, now the wipers were biting and dragging on the windscreen. There was glue on the spoiler. the driver's door didn't close properly.
The car was taken again on the 19th. Came back without resolving the wiper problem, fitted with 2nd hand wipers and still with the sensor problem. Now there's water in the light!
Isn't there a limit to this??? We want a new car!
