Re-fueling charges

I hired a vehicle in Cape Town and immediately before returning the vehicle I re-fuelled the rental vehicle at the Cape Town Airport then drove approximately 300-400m to the vehicle rental return section. I produced my re-fuelling slip to the rental company asking them to note that the vehicle had been re-fuelled. Subsequently I received an invoice informing me that R34.00 was being recovered from my deposit for re-fuelling of the vehicle. On querying the matter I was was then credited with this amount. It leaves me wondering how many other unsuspecting clients are being billed for fuel and whether this is ever checked when a company hires a vehicle for employees on business trips.
