3 weeks ago I requested some work done on my Hyundai accent at SAC. Mainly I wanted my head gasket replaced as I thought it was going causing a misfire. I was told that they would run diagnostics costing me R850 to find the problem. This was done and I was told a general service including new plugs and filters would solve the problem. They charged me R6050 excluding fee for their courtesy car and the diagnostic costs. When I got the car back the misfire was more prominent and eventually the car stopped operating completely. I had it towed to another mechanic who found the head gasket had gone causing burnt valves. A simple compression test would have picked this up. The diagnostics were obviously never done and I noticed that my fuel filter wasn't replaced either. I spent R7000 to have this problem fixed only to have my car break down completely and now another big bill is coming my way. Absolutely pathetic service Steve's Auto Clinic.
