Chery unable to repair their own vehicles

Cars & Transport

We have had so many headaches from Chery lately and it is completely heartbreaking. In 2008, we bought a brand new Chery QQ3 0.8TX. We started having problems with it for the first time this year.

We had had the head gasket replaced about month ago from a mechanic who was willing to assist us. Subsequently, we have found out that we have a leaking fuel tank. The mechanic which replaced out head gasket, lifted the car and showed us the leak. We have gone to Chery Milnerton - couldnt help us as the person who works in that department is never there and the receptionists cannot give any answers (we have driven out there about 3 or 4 times). Chery Wynberg - useless and can never help. Chery Tokai were somewhat useful. They said that procedure is to lift the car and the problem and once they can confirm that it is the fuel tank which is leaking - they will then TRY and source a new one. TRY? How can the dealer say they will TRY and find the part? The cherry on top is that they are going to charge us R570 to lift the car and confirm what we already know - and then they cannot even tell us if they will be able to repair it once they confirm the problem. Where do we go? What next?
