Nissan Finance unduly loading Temporary Insurance!

We keep on receiving sms for proof of vehicle insurance. We could not buy the vehicle initially without the insurance in place. We were then asked a year later for proof of insurance and another year later again. We then phoned them and asked them whether this is necessary because we've done this already. They give a number to call if you want to clarify anything. This number is a call centre that keeps you on hold for 1/2 hour before a person answers. We were told that it was mandatory to provide proof. We sent a long e-mail with all the required information to the given e-mail addressess at 3 pm that same afternoon. On the following day at 9:24 we received another sms stating that temporary insurance will be loaded because we have not provided proof. It took another 1/2 hour to raise a consultant only for her to find the e-mails whilst talking on the phone. NOTE: The sms's sent are not a request but a demand and there is no option left for the consumer or opportunity for discussions. The company seems to have the power to just load your account with whatever it is that they deem fit. Is this even legal? This consumer is left to feel harrassed!!
