Keeping client not updated and calling back

I ordered a vehicle and waited a month plus for it to be delivered. The aspect that led to my utmost dissatisfaction is the fact I'm spending quite a substantial amount of money on it so I expect some level of client service, for example the sales person just keeping me in the loop and updating me on the progress instead of just leaving me in waiting. I needed to phone them on a weekly basis to enquire about the progress and that I feel is not the service I pay for!
Their attitude in this regard was offensive. It seems that they find it easy to take money and make sales but not very helpful helping when it comes to negotiated discounts or just simply phoning back...
This seriously affects my willingness to take part in any future transacting with Volkswagen.
