SELLING OF ALLEGEDLY CLONED VEHICLE

I purchased a POLO 1.6, YSY 611 GP for my son Jeremy in December 2009 from Remirts / Omega Auto Sales, 34 Maraisburg St, Bosmont. It was traded-in in July 2011. Thereafter, the POLO was impounded by the police, due to many irregularities on said vehicle.

A warrant officer Maleka (from the pound) stated that:
The Engine number has been tampered with and changed.
o Chassis plate is changed.
o The original stamped number on the chassis has been removed and has been stamped with a false number.
o A test has picked up a problem with the colour of the car. Other tests are being conducted.

In spite of my and my son's many phone calls and numerous emails to Ishmael over the past few months he has not responded positively in any way. He has not even obliged in furnishing the police clearance certificate. Now he simply ignores all our calls and any communications. I have now become liable to the motor company to whom I traded the said vehicle. I have now engaged an attorney and am contemplating the legal options and implications of opening a charge against Omega Auto Sales t/a Remirts Motors, for dealing with allegedly "" or "cloned" vehicle (according to the police records)
