Unfair Treatment and Compensation for Accident

I am appalled and utterly disappointed in Imperial Distribution. One of their trucks caused a major accident on the west coast road, in which several cars were involved. Mine was written off and they refuse to compensate me in a fair and just manner, the insurance is rather trying to let their client come of well with complete disregard to the victims of the accident, an accident caused by their members' negligence. Freddie the branch manager has not once made any inquiry to the wellbeing of those involved in the accident, neither does he accept responsibility as the manager of the truck driver. To date my passenger has been of from work for nearly a month, not even a get well card. The insurance representative dealing with the third party claims feels that "The aim in awarding damages is to compensate the claimant for material loss, not to improve her material prospects." How does money compensate for such an horrific experience? The least they could do is to ensure that I am compensated fairly and be in the same position as I was before the accident, but instead they expect me to suffer loss and be happy about it.
