BMW South Africa
Brake booster recall

Cars & Transport

I own a 2012 3 series car. Heard on the news today that 5533 cars built between June 2012 and August 2013 are to be recalled for repairs due to a camshaft problem that can potentially affect the brakes. As my car was produced in November 2012 my vehicle could potentially be one of the 5533. I am traveling to Cape Town in 2 days with my family and called BMW to find out if my car is affected. The response was that they do not have the list of affected cars. How can BMW put out a press release without knowing the people affected. Is my car a potential problem and how can this be made public, is BMW putting my families lives in danger???
