Volkswagen
RECALL OF VW TIGUANS

Miscellaneous

On the 14 Nov 2013 i read an article that there was a huge recall of AMAROK AND TIGUANS and i own a 2009 Tiguan that has been giving me problems since 2012. I called VWSA and i was told that they will send chasis number to GERMANY.

The reaponse came back that my car was identified as one of the cars that were affected. The lady i spoke to in PORT ELIZABETH SA, said i must take my car in on the next service. To my surprise, the minute i told them how the car has been giving problems and that it has been standing for almost a year, the language changed. i was then referred to their techinical staff, where i was grilled and asked so many questions about what the car has been doing. i said what i could but hey i am not techincal. i was then told the recall is only for automatic cars not manuals.

how can chasis number of my car points that its affected and then when i start telling them about the history of failures in the car, then the story changes. Is VW protecting themselves here or what?
