Volvo
R1000s TO BE PAID FOR REPAIR AFTER MAJOR SERVICE

Cars & Transport

On February 2013, our motor vehicle underwent a major service which include the cam belt and water reservoir replacement. The car is not due for the next service. Three weeks ago a water pipe burst and the gasket blew. Volvo SA was contacted in this regard and they indicated that due to the fact that such a lengthy period had passed after the service, they cannot be held responsible for the costs. When the water reservoir was changed, the water pipes were worked on. I would like to believe that it is Volvo's responsibility to have ensured that there wasn't an existing defects in the water pipes. The vehicle's water reservoir is directly linked to the engine cooling system and this is probably the direct result of the car overheating and damaging the head gasket. I strongly believe that I have right of recourse against Volvo despite them abdicating from their responsibility. I would appreciate your reconsideration of your decision not to repair the vehicle failing which I will have no alternative but to seek legal opinion in this matter.
