Volvo
Volvo C30 D2 unsafe and unreliable

Cars & Transport

I purchased a new Volvo C30 D2 from the Midrand Volvo branch in September 2012.
Since then the vehicle has had to go in for repairs on 3 occassions. 3 in 10 months. The repairs are technical - ABS failure putting the car in limp mode and air intake pipes that keep bursting - and have been attended to by Volvo Centurion (Lazarus).
The ABS issue happened 23:00 at night on the N1 - 120km/h to 60km/h no warning and the air pipe bursting results in the car having no power - also happened on the highway.
The car is unreliable and unsafe and my complaints to Volvo SA has resulted in them telling me that I have to monitor the situation and that aeveryone at Volvo followed procedure.
In other words I got told to stuff myself.

I advise all and sundry considering wasting money on Volvo's to think again! Stay away from a poor company whose cars (I know understand why) have very low resale and trade values.
This car is unsafe and unreliable and the srervice is well below standard.
