Speedy Tyre & Fitment
Speedy could have killed us

Cars & Transport

On 27 August 2013 I took my husband's Toyota Conquest in to Speedy Knysna for four new tyres. My husband noticed a noise coming from the car this past week. Long story short e took it to our mechanic in George and it has emerged that the noise was caused by the left front wheel not being properly tightened. We also discovered damage to the rim holes and the nuts are totally damaged and when we checked the rest of the wheels we found most of the nuts on the other wheels have been damaged. Also, one stud on the front right wheel was broken off and one of the wheel nuts was on backwards. When he removed it he realised that it was put on backwards because the correct side was completely stripped. The hubcaps were incorrectly fitted in that the air valves were not aligned with the correct holes. I went to Speedy Knysna yesterday to try and discuss this with Leon Fouche (the owner). He was rude, defensive, unhelpful and abusive. I sent an email to the address listed on Speedy's website giving full details of my complaint and how I was treated yesterday but haven't had a response. Why should I be out of pocket for repairs that I had to make to a car that was damaged by Speedy?
