Kia Motors South Africa
Brakes checked but 618km later they fail

Cars & Transport

My Kia Rio had its 30 000km service at Kia Centurion on 28 August 2013 on 30387km. According to the invoice, my brakes were checked. On 16 September 2013 I start smelling a burn, with a screeching sound on my way to work. With difficulty breaking I make my way to Kia Sandton, only to be told that my front brakes need replacing, now on 31005km. That is only 618km after it was apparently checked. There was no reason for Centurion not to replace if necessary as the car has a maintenance plan. Thank you Kia for not only endangering my life and that of my husband, but also everybody I shared a road with. I wonder if the technician who "checked" my braked on the 28th will put the ones they removed from my car yesterday in his wife/daughter's car.
