Chevrolet Opel & Isuzu
What an utter disappointment

Cars & Transport

Hi
I purchased a brand new Chevrolet Spark in September 2012. Yesterday, the clutch burnt out - a mere 15000kms into the vehicles history. Believing that such a remarkably short lifespan for such a critical component of the vehicle must surely be covered by warranty, I brought the vehicle in to Chevrolet SA. Their immediate response was that this is a user problem and they will charge the full cost to me. Astounding, considering I drove the car in the exact same manner that I have driven my other manual cars for over 100, 000kms each with ZERO clutch problems. After some arguing with managers etc, it was revealed that Chevrolet actually uses inferior generic parts in their vehicles - not that this meant anything in terms of the repair cost, they refused any liability.

I am sick to my stomach to see how horrifically this company has treated me. I honestly feel like starting an awareness campaign to let consumers know that Chevrolet vehicles won't last you even a single year before breaking down. I will never go near this company again. Don't make the mistake of buying their inferior products, you will pay dearly, in my case R16, 000!
