Chevrolet paint peeling off car after 6 years

The paint is peeling off my chevrolet's bonnet and boot. I've owned it for 6 years and as such have been advised it is out of warranty period. Head office refuse to assess what the cause of this problem was stating that because I did not have car serviced at Chevrolet dealers, they cannot help me.
