Hyundai South Africa
Complaint regarding service and poor workmanship

Cars & Transport

On 1 July I took my vehicle in for repairs to repalce a burnt clutch plate and was advised on 3 July that the vehicle was ready for collection. On route back to JHB, you can imagine my schock when the vehicle breaks down on me. I therefore returned it where I was advised that the problem was a result of "faulty connections" on their part (which were never really properly explained to me). As if that wasn't enough, the vehicle breaks down again on 5 August - this was caused, among other things, due to the fact that my drive shaft had dropped and broken my CV joints on the way down.

Over and above the dropping of the shaft, the panelbeater I sent my vehicle to advised that the my clutch (which was meant to have been fixed) was not in operating order and that my engine and gearbox mountings were loose. What frustrates and infuriates me is that I paid Hyundai to FIX my car - something they clearly failed to do as matters that they advised had been resolved were clearly still problem areas.

I have tried on numerous occassions to have this matter resolved amicably and have received no joy from them. I do not see why I should have to bear the full liability when they too are at fault.
