Cars & Transport

In April 2012 transaxle repaired my gearbox on my T5 transporter. They had to replace a "CV Shaft" as part of the job. They Charged me 90% of the price of a new OEM part but they supplied a "home-made" shaft that was made up of pieces welded together. The welded up shaft only lasted about 30 000km. The original lasted 270 000 km. Although the vehicle is out of warranty, I feel they supplied an inferior part at an inflated price which didn't last, and should therefore re-imburse me for what they charged me in the first place. I have had to incur a cost of more than R8000 to have the vehicle repaired when they did not do it properly in the first place.
