Bad service and no follow ups, delays

Cars & Transport

I have just relocated to the Strand area, Western cape from Johannesburg, to be closer to my ailing brother.

On 10 August, the car roof of my Opel Astra twin top wouldn't go down. The weather has been really cold and rainy, so we had no option to seek assistance as we could not use the car. I contacted roadside assistance for help but could not get through. I went to the nearest car dealership, which was GM West Vaal dealership. A friendly gentleman by the name of Morne did his best to assist me and contacted, but was unable to get a hold of roadside assistance for me. I was asked to leave my car there. I emphasized how urgently I needed the car.

In that time, I had the trauma of my brother's illness, begging lifts, and his eventual passing. I was at the dealership daily and called 3 or 4 times a day. In that time, no one followed up with me or came back to me. The dealership and workshop treated me dismissively. No one made an attempt to get a courtesy car for me. The service was really awful, compared to the excellent service I received when I bought the car last year at Blackheath in jhb. After sales service. I would like my car back no later than Monday.
