Cars & Transport

I've just bought a 2011 Ford Figo and within the first month the power-steering oil pipe broke so it had to be fixed. Now I got a call saying the car has two recall orders, i.e. I must take it to a dealer (leaving me without a car for the second time in my one month of owning it), who will then check on two possible factory issues.

I phoned Ford to find out what their plans are for the future - the car is only under warranty for another 40000 km and it currently seems like a really bad buy, so what will happen in the next 6 years while I'm paying it off? The helpdesk just keeps repeating my question back to me and saying it is recalled.

Now my question is this: who should take responsibility for a defective product? If it keeps on breaking will I just have to fix it myself? At what point does the company take responsibility and say "we made a mistake with this one"? Or is it just plain my problem now that it is bought?
