Today we were meant to pick up our 2011 Toyota Fortuner from the Toyota Empangeni Branch which they have had for 9 weeks trying to diagnose a problem. After 9 weeks of half hearted feedback from all the people that I have contacted in the Toyota group we were told that the problem was a faulty fuel sensor which has now been replaced and we could collect the car. They tried to give us the car back this afternoon with not a drop of petrol in it, the dash board panels were out of alignment and are badly scratched and there was a loose nut lying on the floor behind the front passenger seat. The engine cover was loose and our rust stopper was lying loose in the engine bay. They also never gave us the computer report to sign telling us all that has been done to the car in the last 9 weeks. I was told that they were swapping parts from cars that were brought in for a service with parts from our car so we really need a record in case of future problems. Despite them very reluctantly hiring us a Nisan Mira after they had our car for 2 weeks, not once has anyone apologized for our inconvenience and we have been treated as if we were a real problem and expense to them. A very bad experience
