Toyota
Loose spotlight on 4tune

Cars & Transport

Good day
I am experiencing an unbelievable experience with my 2010 Toyota Fortuner 4x4 (17 000km). The left front build in spotlight is loose. After 2 (unsuccessful) discussions with Barloworld Toyota Centurion, I am none the wiser as I was basically bluntly told that this is my problem and need to have it fixed at a panelbeater as if they repair it with fibreglass it becomes a modification. Upon my question whether this is not maybe just a clip that should be replaced (in my humble opinion), I was assured that it is not as they are sure that it is as a result of a design failure where the bracket break's off. To fix this the entire bumper need to be replaced, at you know what cost!!
Now really, this is ridiculous and if so, why must we as customers pay for a design failure? Furthermore, if so Toyota SA should mandate the dealers to fix this even if it then reflects as a modification.

O yes needless to mention the inconvenience of visiting the dealer twice and now need to visit a panelbeater.
