Poor quality Diesel 50

I filled up a full tank of Diesel 50 (R769.06) on Sunday the 21 July at Engen, the 45th cutting garage (Durban Bound) at approximately 14:00 in Durban. On my vehicle with a full tank for a trip from Durban to Newcastle gives me a minimum of 800 kms. This means i can comfortably go to Newcastle and return to Durban on a single tank and still run around for a day or two. However on this particular tank i only got around 600 kms and had to fill up at estcourt ultra city on my way back to durban. I was shocked and dismayed as this is the first time this has happened in the last 3 and half years of travelling. There is something definitely not right with the quality of the Diesel 50. I really feel robbed and cheated due to this inferior product. This is clear daylight. There was nothing different i did on this trip, no extra loads and not excessive speeds etc.
I feel like escalating this to SABS for a quality audit to be conducted at the petrol station.
