Had to pay for a service even under Service Plan

Cars & Transport

I am a first-time car owner and I bought a Twingo II from the Tygervalley branch. I love my car, but the service I received from the salesman was very poor. I signed the contracts and made sure that they verify that I should get my car at a certain date. When I arrived to pick up my car, they didn't have it ready. They said it still needs to go in for a service and to be cleaned, etc. I had to catch a flight that afternoon, but waited non-the-less for my car. Eventually, they had it ready and i took it home. They gave me a service booklet with many details not filled in and told me that a service had been done. They didn't give me the spare key and didn't mention when to next service it. Eventually, I got my key. I drove around with my car for a few months when the service light came on. Naturally, I went to get my car serviced and when i got there they told me that I should have had my service 5000 kms ago and that they will not cover it under my service plan, and that cannot go without it and I was thus forced to pay. The dealership never mentioned that the service light is not what indicates that you need a service! Nobody informed me when to service and I am R1500 out of pocket
