Damage my Car during service

It was my very first time to service my car with ACD Bellville (end Jan 20130, as a lady I just service my car, put on fuel and hit the road. On Friday (28/06/13) I then took my car for new tyres. they told me that my nuts are damaged and the responsible person should be the one servicing it. I took it back to them and Neil told me that they cant help as it was done in January, but i told him I do not touch the tyres not nuts. he told me that I should have checked my nuts two weeks after the service. it that possible?
