Disappointing service and attitude

Monument Toyota Constantia serviced my Fortuner this week, they adjusted the hand brake too tightly. This resulted in the brake linings overheating and I could smell it burning.
Went back and asked them to adjust and take responsibility for possible future damage. They opened the brakes and could see that there was some damage on the linings. I asked them to make a note on the vehicle records so should the breaks play up in the next 2 years that they will to pay for the repairs.
These were new brakes, about 1000km, which were fitted by Safety Brake in Randburg, who by the way gives great service and get great reviews on HelloPeter.
The service manager refused to make a note of the problem or take responsibility and he claimed the brakes were damaged because it wasn't genuine Toyota parts.
The fact is the handbrake was too tight, I am sure the damage will be the same even if you fit Toyota branded linings and we can even test it
