Design "Flaws" Renault Scenic II

Cars & Transport

I am a proud owner of a 2004 Renault Megane Scenic 2.0. Unfortunately it was plagued by all the problems that so many of my fellow Scenic owners experienced. First the cluster which Renault gracefully subsidized. Then the plastic window winder clips that they fixed under warranty. Then again the plastic clips of the window winder that they quoted me R 3000-00 to fix. I was able to fix it with the help of youtube and a redesigned R 200-00 part. Now the pulley dephaser makes that noise every Renault Scenic owner fears. I had the timing belt changed at 90 000 kms and believe that replacing the dephaser requires another belt change and it is further advised to also replace the water pump at the same time. Research on the internet shows that this is another "common" fault on the car. The dephaser pulley was also redesigned by Renault clearly indicating the original was not up to scrach! I plea with Renault SA to help me replace this dephaser or at least assist with some of the costs involved.
