I drive a Ford Figo and went to the nearest Ford Dealer/Service Centre when I realised that my CD player was not working. I am a young woman and am always afraid of not being taken seriously or taken for a fool when attending car matters. As I entered the building, I was not acknowledged by any receptionist or person working there. Once I had gotten the attention of a man working behind the counter, I explained my dilemma to him. He then assured my that he would call the person responsible for such matters, and that I can wait in the lounge area. After 40 minutes of waiting in the lounge area, when no one had come to speak to me, I returned to the front desk where the attendant then informed me that the person responsible had been in town, but would then attend to me. I asked him whether he could not have said this to me FORTY MINUTES ago, or have come to where I was waiting to inform me. He then proceeded to ignore me. A few minutes later, I was attended to. However, having to unnecessarily wait for such a long time is unacceptable. I know that I was treated like this because I am a young woman and that this specific worker had absolutely no regard or respect for me or my time.
