Pajero urgent repai

Cars & Transport

Travelling down to Sodwana from Pretoria on Friday, 19 April 2013, my 2003 Pajero 2.3 DiD kept cutting out on low revs from just before Pongola. Nobody could assist in Pongola and after some phone calls, I managed to obtain the number of McCarthy Inyanga in Empangeni. Speaking to the Service Advisor, Mohamed Mukada, he said that they will be able to assist soon as we can get there. Seeing that we could still travel in the vehicle as long as we keep the revs above 1000rpm, we pushed through to Empangeni and arrived shortly after mid-day.

Mohamed immediately took the vehicle through to their service area and had a technician working on the vehicle. Besides diesel leaking from the sensor-switch under the diesel filter, it turned out that the vacuum pipes were connected incorrectly by the previous service company who worked on the vehicle (NOT McCarthy or Mitsubishi). After 'fixing' the leaking diesel filter switch, the technicain went about sorting the vacuum pipes.

After about 2x hours, we were back on the road! The Pajero was idling at low rpm's, had more power and the black smoke dissapeared.

A great thank you McCarthy Inyanga and specifically Mohamed Mukada!
