During my recent visit to Pigalle, the atmosphere resembled more that of a night club rather than a premium restaurant. While the food was fine, the music (which was a selection of 1980's 1990's pop music, not forgetting a rendition of the "Bridal Chorus"???) was being played at a volume that made it impossible to have a conversation on my table. I asked the waiter and the manager on duty if they could play the music a little softer, so I could talk to others on my table without shouting. I was told that they would not, as the music (both the choice of songs, and volume) was requested by one of their regular patrons. I told them that I should have been informed of this when I made the booking, as I was expecting a certain ambiance from their restaurant, and had I known that Pigalle doubled as a nightclub, I should have been informed. This was due to the fact that I had only 1 night to discuss issues with guests who I was entertaining from overseas, and now we could not hear each other speak. It was also embarrassing for me, as the guests were expecting an premium restaurant, and I had brought them to a nghtclub. Anyway, I was not accoodates, and the night was a nightmare
