Disgraceful Food and service

Our family is visiting from America and we treated them to a meal. We had celebrated my husband's 50th birthday at Centre Court Ushaka and so returned there. We have never been so ashamed, dismayed or embarrassed as tonight. The food was absolutely disgusting - the prawns were so dry the shells wouldn't come off. The malva pudding looked like a rock cake and the service was disgusting. My brother waited 45 minutes for his drink and his young daughter remarked of her own that 'There's nothing of America here'. When the bill arrived, my brother checked and saw all he had been charged for was two beers - R34 for a party of 10. Being honest, he alerted the waitress who rectified it. I asked for the manager and told him how disappointed and disgusted we were and his reply was that he was sorry and the country is trying to catch up! What an insult - he didn't even try to compensate or rectify the situation, but his reply said it all. He didn't care and assumed that we should accept what was served because SA hasn't caught up to America. How embarrassing for this country and for Centre Court. We will never set foot there again and they have lost many patrons as a result.
